black 1940's tea dress embellished detail size uk 10/12 us 6/8 eu 36/38 (or uk 16, us 12, eu44, with a side zip added)

This is a pretty dress from the 1940's. She is made from what feels like a man made fabric...or possibly a rayon type weave.

She is ever so slightly sheer, and features the most wonderful buttoned neckline, with a ornate embellished detail to one shoulder. The detail included gems, studs and gold paint.

My favourite detail is the dropped (decorative) pockets, with a wide lip and gathering underneath. This actually is really flattering when on, and give you a great shape!

Size wise she is a little complicated due to her not having a side fastening and you having to slip her on. If you want to use her as is, I would recommend her for a UK 10/12 US 6/8 EU 36/38. I am a 10 and can slip her on fine, I just use a ribbon to nip her in at the waist (sorry mines not included) colored wedding wears for over size ladies

If however you are a larger size, you may wish to pop in a side zip at the seam, this will allow for her maximum measurements to be used, and she would fit around a size UK 16, US 12, EU 44

Her measurements when laid flat and doubled are:

Bust 42"
Waist 34"
Hips 41"
Length 40.5"

This condition is very good considering her age. She has light signs of washing around the collar edge. very subtle but worth noting.

She also has a few loose thread/seams that might need over stitching for prolonged and repeated use, but certainly usable as is for a bit. The front central seam looks to have had a wobbly historic repair at some point which doesn't bother me, but might want to be changed by the new owner.

I also feel this dress should have and would have had a side zip originally, you may wish to pop one back in.

I have priced this dress with all this in mind, so she is a great value piece for someone!
